Highlands Scots Support Breast Cancer Research
The
Highlands Scots showed their support for breast cancer research and awareness
during their last home football game on Friday, October 30. Several of the
players wore pink socks and athletic gear to show their support, while 10
percent of ticket and snack bar sales went to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer
research fund.
As most people
know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. However, for the
Highlands Scots football players supporting the cause was more than just being
a part of a national trend, it was supporting one of their own teammates whose
grandmother is currently battling breast cancer. Highlands
also has two faculty members who survived breast cancer, so it was something in
which everyone was proud to be involved.
